Scott Niswonger—Chairman and Founder

An aviation-technology graduate of Purdue University and former airline pilot, Scott Niswonger created Landair in an effort to fill a void in the transportation marketplace. Founded in 1981, the company grew to become a major player in the supply chain management business—even being recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the “Top 200 Small Companies” in America. But since the beginning, the company has been driven by motivation that stems from the founder’s drive for success. As he says: “Our strongest asset is waking up every morning with your belly on fire for what you do—getting a great deal of satisfaction from solving a customer’s problems, and wanting to do so better than anyone else.”
